Falguni Doshi the woman who thought innovatively and made a revolution by creating new instrument from recovering the old and waste orthopaedic materials. She is successfully helping the poor people who are unable to afford expensive orthopaedic articles like wheel chair, crutches, hospital bed, walker etc. and many more. She is giving these tools in rent by charging one rupee every day. She thought of this amazing idea for helping the poor and needy people, Falguni Doshi of Vadodara thought of recycling wheelchair and helping the needy people in her own way by thinking of recycling orthopaedic equipments and rent it out for 1 rupee per day.
Falguni along with her two friends opened an organization where they openly accepted the donation of the orthopaedic equipments from them who didn’t use them anymore, over the years the donations increased at a rapid rate equipments like wheelchairs, transport chairs, walkers, canes, knee and ankle and neck braces etc after their need gets over and with those equipments she started helping the needy people who are deprived of buying such expensive equipments at a rent of one rupee per day.
Falguni Doshi who is a simple girl next door with a degree of textile designing who born in Mumbai and after marriage she came to Vadodara with a determination to do something for the poor and needy people of our country by doing something which will provide them some kind of comfort. She was married into a business oriented family and from a very young age she thought of doing something for our society but was unable to pursue her dreams. She was confused of what to do which will help her to pursue her dreams.
One fine morning 16 years ago from today while Falguni visited her friend’s place in Vadoara, suddenly her eyes fell in one corner of the room where she saw a wheelchair, walker, and a stick lying covered with a thick coat of dust and it seemed that they are kept unused for quite a long time. Asking about those things her friend replied that those belonged to her late grandmother and after her death it is lying there for many years, instantly an idea struck to her and soon after the two friends set out in their mission through the social networking sites and within a few days they received numerous donation of orthopaedic equipments which were kept unused by the people. At first they bought some new equipments on their and started renting them out. But after few days they realised that renting the costly equipments for free was not a good decision as they found that people who take those articles for free returned back with several damages on them, as free things are mostly taken for granted by the people, from then onwards Falguni started to charge one rupee per day as the rental cost which is to be deposited before using the equipment.
Her dream came true:
Falguni and her friend went for a very hard work to popularise their mission of helping the people. During initial days they distributed pamphlets to the close by orthopaedic hospitals and nursing homes so that people could know about their service and it is unneeded to say that they were instantly went into demand as people started to rent those equipments and were very satisfied to know that such a helpful organization had been set up in their city. After few days Falguni’s friend left the work due to some of her personal issues and this never stopped Falguni from fetching her dreams and she took a decision of taking her work forward and shifted all the equipments to her own bungalow and transformed it into her work place. After working for so many years at present Falguni owns a dozens of orthopaedic equipments from toilet chairs to crutches, walkers, sticks, air beds, hospital beds etc, if everything are put together there are 100 odd things she gives out for rent regularly.
Falguni felt a lot of satisfaction when she saw a smile on the face of those needy people who were unable to buy such costly equipments, she never thought of making any kind of profit from this work she only thought for the benefit of the people from this innovative idea the most valuable thing she gained by doing this job is the blessings of people which are far more precious than earning money. Her determination was only to help people who are unable to buy the orthopaedic equipments and as a result of that they remain disabled for the rest of their life. Falguni gladly accepts the donation of orthopaedic equipments and rent them only for few months and then again she replace those with other equipments and also some the brand new equipments whenever they are needed. Her request towards the people is that whenever they are done with the use of the orthopaedic equipment then they should not be kept unwanted in the corner of your room, instead of that they can easily donate those equipments so that they becomes useful for the people who needed them the most.
